Born and raised on Vancouver Island, Ryan has been tattooing for over 18 years.
His experience began in 2003 at Brian's Tattoo Studio in Abbotsford where he trained under Brian Martin for over 5 years, where he began to focus on detailed work with an emphasis on black and grey.
After completing his apprenticeship, he travelled for the next 7 years, tattooing in South America, Europe and Africa to gain more experience and soak up influences from other countries.
Home was always calling him back and he returned to Vancouver Island in 2014 and settled in Nanaimo.
You can find him at his private studio, Legacy Ink Tattoos, most of the year although he still regularly travels for conventions and guest spots.
He is known mainly for his detailed style of tattooing, which often involves repeat patterns and intricate mandalas, as well as a mixture of bold and fine lines and large areas of black.
